Max Wade BSc(Hons) PhD CEcol CEnv FCIEEM is currently Technical Director (Ecology) at AECOM. He began his career in higher education at the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, later moving to Loughborough University where he helped set up the International Centre of Landscape Ecology (ICOLE), which conducted research and consultation first on invasive aquatic plants and later on land-based problematic invasive weeds such as giant hogweed, Himalayan balsam and Japanese knotweed. He was later appointed Professor of Ecology and Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. He has authored a number of manuals, field guides and scientific papers, and advises nationally on invasive non-native plants and animals. Max was Founding Chair of the Invasive Weed Control Group (120 member companies) of the PCA, 2012-18, and is President of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
