David Lewis, Dip Est Man., MPhil, MRICS, FAAV, MICFor, FHEA, has worked in education and land and woodland management in the UK for over 25 years. He is currently a senior lecturer at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, where he lectures on woodland management and rural asset management, and is Course Manager of the University’s MSc in Rural Estate Management. David is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, Agricultural Valuer and Chartered Forester. His MPhil assessed the feasibility of using wood, including energy crops, for the generation of energy, and his continuing research and consultancy focuses on the management of farm and rural-estate woodlands, forestry policy, economics and valuation. He is also involved in the maintenance of 1000 acres of lowland woodland including significant areas of SSSI and ancient woodland.
